General Purpose and Scope of Position:The Business Intelligence & Reporting Specialist provides specialized analytics support to Data Analysts within the business lines at Wilbur-Ellis. This individual will be considered a subject matter expert in Business Intelligence reporting, who can drive adoption, educate on best practices and software, advocate the importance of data literacy and governance, and continue to evolve us to best-in-class reporting. In addition to supporting our analyst community, this role may deliver on ad-hoc projects, as assigned, for more complex business needs or advanced reporting capabilities.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:Undergraduate degree with work experience or specialization in business intelligence, data analysis, and/or data modeling5+ years supporting end users and the business with enterprise business intelligence reporting platformsAdvanced experience with various data sources, tools, and technologies used in preparing BI reportsExpertise in Power BI preferred. Will consider experience in similar tools such as Tableau, Looker, and/or QlikAdvanced knowledge in PowerBi, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and/or Denodo helpfulFamiliar with data warehouse modeling concepts Key Personal Attributes Include:Strong analytical and program-solving skills are required to interpret data and draw conclusionsFluent in reading and writing SQLExcellent written and verbal communication skills Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:Internal consultant to the business analysts sharing insights on how best to access, visualize, deliver, secure, and maintain BI reporting.

Works both with the IT data & analytics team and independently as a senior analyst/subject matter expert to provide technical support to othersHelps to develop a process for self-service BI reports to move from citizen developers to enterprise solutionsIdentifies and proposes impactful visualizations utilizing various technology/applications/methodologies to improve data consumption and decision-makingRequires advanced knowledge of reporting and BI platforms, tools, and techniques, and the ability to effectively leverage it to support diverse reporting and BI functionsExpert knowledge of all main data sources for the data used within the business and ability to effectively utilize these data sources for reporting purposesExpected to know enterprise reporting platforms and data sources and the ability to integrate data across the enterpriseFamiliar with agile methodology to build stories and capture requirementsStays abreast on the latest bi tools, trends, training, and capabilitiesSolves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, which may include consultationAnalyzes to provide enhanced Business Intelligence to inform management leadershipValidates the quality and integrity of dataParticipates in monthly analyst user groups gathering challenges, offering solutions, and helping to prioritize workConducts or coordinates vendor-led training for new analysts, skill refreshers, or advanced reporting features.Works with analysts across the company to understand business drivers, definitions, and metrics to interpret findings, take action, and provide meaningful directionContributes to the review of processes and assists in identifying potential opportunities to improve information and migrate to data-driven decisions Compensation and Benefits:In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $89,400 - $125,280. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
