Network Operations Engineer - 6 Month Contract - Hybrid - Edinburgh/Newcastle

Position Overview:

Our client, a leading data centre provider in the UK, is seeking a Network Operations Engineer for an initial 6-month contract based in either Edinburgh or Newcastle

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive network support, operational assistance, and project support, particularly in Telco and ISP environments.
• Hands-on experience with routing and switching technologies, specializing in Cisco or Juniper equipment.Execute data centre operations and connectivity testing.
• Manage network monitoring, ticket handling, and prioritization of tasks.
• Collaborate on network project deployments and upgrades.
• Proficiency in key protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in network support and operations within Telco or ISP sectors.
• Solid background in routing and switching technologies, specifically with Cisco or Juniper equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to efficiently handle tickets while meeting SLAs.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and protocols.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Preferred certifications include CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or JNCIS.
