Duties: The CMM Programmer plays a pivotal role in creating and implementing CMM programs, leveraging profound knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to interpret detailed customer prints. Collaborating closely with the US quality team, the CMM Programmer ensures alignment with priorities and prepares programs accordingly.
Responsibilities:
Interpret detailed prints and translate requirements to develop CMM inspection programs, employing expertise in GD&T and adhering to CMM programming best practices.
Utilize Calypso software proficiently to program CMMs based on provided part models.
Demonstrate proficiency in SolidWorks to create part models when necessary for CMM programming, ensuring accurate GD&T application.
Implement best practices for inspecting features, considering factors such as data points, feature shape, scanning rate, noise/filters, and tolerances.
Apply CMM programming best practices to align data bubbles with Inspection Data Sheet output effectively.
Possess 3-5 years of prior experience in creating CMM programs for complex part geometries.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
Proven track record in writing CMM programs for intricate, tight tolerance parts.
Proficiency in reading drawings and applying GD&T principles.
Experience with Calypso software is required, while familiarity with Zeiss CMM machines is preferred.
Proficiency in 3D modeling using SolidWorks is essential.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
