If so, we might have just the opportunity you're looking for!Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) AI Data and Visualization group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a AI/Data/Visualization Department Manager.Our team works an on-site 9x80 schedule located at our Research Education Campus with every other Friday off!Responsibilities Include:The Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Visualization Department Manager is responsible for leading a team to develop and integrate AI/Data/Visualization programs and activities within the Advanced Scientific Computing (ASC) Division, Nuclear Science and Technology (NS&T) Directorate, and the laboratory.

Advise senior management on issues related to scientific computing strategy, facilities, and software tools. Responsibilities include leadership of a team of scientific and computing professionals in accomplishing INL's scientific computing mission and associated objectives. Work jointly with INL mission organization leadership to ensure that INL's scientific computing vision remains a competitive advantage in a constantly changing and competitive environment.

Identify scientific and engineering requirements in the areas of capabilities and capacity, and work to satisfy these requirements. Develop clear business cases for change, desired outcomes, accurate scope, clear roles, and decision-making. Specifics job requirements include having the understanding of INL mission needs in order to develop tools for INL researchers across the laboratory and communicate/collaborate with personnel from INL, DOE, other laboratories, universities, and industry.

This manager is responsible for interacting with funding authorities, industry representatives, and subject matter experts outside of the INL, to retain and obtain funding in this technical area. The manager leads the identification and recruitment of the needed talent. The department manager is responsible for the overall human capital management of the department.

As a leader in the Advanced Scientific Computing Division, the department manager is responsible for creating a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, inclusion, and diversity with focus toward the professional development of staff.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Degree in science or engineering and 10 years relevant experienceThis position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US CitizenshipPreferred Requirements:Demonstrated leadership experienceJob Information:Salary Grade MR0300 - 240 ($139,488 - $237,144)Chosen applicants are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
